Murthy Materials

Murthy Materials is over in Kalyan Nagar at 31/1 on the Hennur Main Road. If you know that area, you know how loud it is with all the trucks and the constant construction happening nearby. Our yard is usually covered in a fine layer of dust from the bags of cement and sand we move around every day. It isn't a very clean or quiet environment, but that is just the nature of the work. We have a small office tucked into one corner where we keep all the delivery notes and receipts. Most of the space is taken up by the materials themselves, so you have to watch where you walk. The phone rings a lot with people asking if their supplies are on the way. We only have a few workers who handle the loading and unloading when the big trucks arrive at the gate. Sometimes the traffic on Hennur Road gets so bad that the deliveries show up much later than we expected, which makes for a very long evening for all of us. I spend most of my time checking the stock and making sure we have enough of the basics like bricks or pipes. The desk is always messy with old papers and half-empty boxes of pens. We don't have any air conditioning, so we keep a large pedestal fan running in the corner to stay cool. People come by in their dusty work clothes, looking to get what they need quickly so they can get back to their sites.
