If you are walking around Max Mall in Hubli, you will find us right above the Westside on Kusugal Road. It is a busy spot because the mall gets a lot of people coming in for shopping and just hanging out. We have been here for a while, watching the cars go by on the road below. The space has a lot of windows, so we get to see the weather change over Hubli throughout the day. We spend most of our time keeping the place clean and making sure the tables are set up right. It is a bit of a climb up from the main street, but people seem to find us okay once they are done with their shopping downstairs. The staff usually arrives early to get everything sorted before the mall doors open to the public. We don't have any big mission statements or fancy signs everywhere. It is just a local business where we try to keep things moving. Sometimes the mall music from outside drifts in, and it gets a little loud when the crowds are big on Sunday afternoons. We have some regular customers who come in just to take a break from the heat. The floors get a lot of dust from the mall traffic, so we are always sweeping. It is a simple setup we have here above Westside. We just go about our business and hope the people who stop by have a decent enough time while they rest their feet. ===RECORD_042=== ===RECORD_START=== We are situated on the first floor of a building on Brigade Road in Bangalore. You have to look for Nilgiris Supermarket because we are right above it, and the Rex Theatre used to be right next to us. This part of the city is always crowded with people walking and cars honking. We have a lot of stairs to climb, but once you are up here, it feels a little bit away from the street noise. The building is older, and you can see that in the walls and the floors. We don't try to hide that because it is just how the place is. We spend our days preparing food and watching the busy life of Bangalore through the windows. It gets really packed during the lunch hour when everyone from the nearby shops comes in. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people know us because they have been shopping at Nilgiris for years and just decide to come up. Our staff is mostly local people who have lived here a long time. We deal with the usual problems like the electricity flickering or the water being slow, but we just get on with it. It is a practical kind of place where you can sit down for a bit. We keep the fans running to deal with the Bangalore afternoon sun. It’s just us doing our thing on Brigade Road, year after year, without making any big deal out of it.
