Mechetek

You can find Mechetek out in Virgo Nagar, near Kedgaon Station in the Daund area of Pune. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city center, but we like the atmosphere out here. It’s a bit more open and less frantic than the middle of Pune. We’ve been operating from this location for quite a bit. Our work revolves around technical and mechanical tasks. We have a small team of local guys who know their way around the machinery. It’s not a polished environment. There’s usually some grease on the floor and tools scattered on the benches, but that’s how a real workshop looks. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. The closeness to the station is handy for getting parts in and out. Most days are simple. We start early, have our tea, and get to work on whatever is on the schedule. Sometimes we have to deal with the heat or the dusty winds, but that’s just part of being in this district. We don't talk about ourselves in big, impressive terms. We just do the jobs that come in and try to stay on top of the pile. It’s a practical life, and it works for us. We’ve built a steady rhythm here in Virgo Nagar over the years and we plan to just keep it going. It’s just honest work at the end of the day.
