Maverick Dance Academy

People usually find us here in Jayanagar 9th Block after asking around a bit because Hosur Road can get pretty busy. We started this academy because we just wanted a place to dance without all the extra drama you find in big fancy studios. The floor gets a bit scuffed up by the end of the week, but that just shows how many people are actually using it. We have different classes throughout the day, so you’ll see kids running around in the afternoon and then adults coming in after work to blow off some steam. It's not a huge space, but it fits what we need. Sometimes the music is a little too loud and the neighbors might give us a look, but mostly everyone is used to it by now. We spend a lot of time just cleaning the mirrors and making sure the sound system doesn't act up. If you're looking for us, we are right there near the main stretch. It isn't anything fancy with marble floors or anything, just a solid wood floor and some fans that work most of the time. We mostly talk about what routines to do next or how to fix a step that someone is struggling with. It’s just a normal spot for people who like to move. We are here most days until late evening when the last group finishes up and we lock the shutters.
