Maruthi Engineering Co

Maruthi Engineering Co has been tucked away in Electronic City for a good while now. We are at 50/2, which isn't hard to find if you know the road. It’s funny because everyone thinks Electronic City is all about computers and software, but we are over here with grease on our clothes and heavy machines. The shop floor is always a bit oily. You have to watch your step or you might slide a bit. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or fixing parts that didn't come out quite right the first time. It gets hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof. We have a few fans going, but they mostly just move the warm air around. The noise of the lathes is something you just get used to after a week. Sometimes I go home and still hear that humming in my ears. We aren't a giant factory. It’s just a handful of us making sure things get turned or drilled properly. We usually have a radio playing in the background, though you can’t hear the music much when the big drill is running. My boots are pretty worn out from standing on the hard floor all day. We keep the tools in those old red metal cabinets that don't always shut right. It’s a decent place to work. We just show up, do the engineering stuff required, and go home to our families when the shift ends.
