Manjushree Sounds & Lightings

Our shop is at No. 3/3 in Adugodi, right across from the Kempegowda Community Hall. It’s a good spot because there are always events happening at the hall, so we get to see a lot of what’s going on in the neighborhood. Manjushree Sounds & Lightings is basically a place filled with cables, speakers, and those big metal frames for lights. It’s usually a bit of a mess, if I’m being honest. We try to keep the wires coiled up, but they always end up in a tangle on the floor by the end of the day. The boys are usually out loading the van for some function or the other. When we aren't out at a site, we are here testing the bulbs or fixing a loose connection in an amplifier. The community hall across the road is like a landmark for us. If someone is lost, we just tell them to look for the big hall and we are right there. It gets pretty loud when we are testing the bass on the speakers, and I’m sure the neighbors don’t always love it, but that’s the nature of the work. We’ve been doing this for years now. It started with just a few small speakers and now the back room is packed to the ceiling. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a practical space where we get the gear ready for the next job. Sometimes the rain leaks in through the front door.
