Mainland China Restaurant

Church Street is one of those places in Bangalore that never seems to sleep. Our restaurant is at number 14, and we've been part of this street’s history for quite a while. It’s a great spot for Mainland China because there’s always someone walking by. The building is older, and it has its own little quirks, like the way the light hits the front windows in the afternoon. We spend most of our mornings getting the dining room ready and checking the stock in the back. It’s a lot of manual work, moving chairs and making sure the kitchen is stocked with fresh greens. The noise from the street stays outside for the most part, but you can still feel the energy of the city. We don’t have a massive team, just enough people to keep the plates moving and the tables cleared. Sometimes we get a bit backed up when a large group comes in without warning, but we do our best to catch up. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming here for years. They know what to expect and we know what they like. It’s a simple arrangement. We don’t go in for anything too fancy or modern. We just keep the place running at 560001, making sure the food is consistent and the doors stay open for whoever wants to drop by. It is just a part of the daily life here.
