We are tucked away in the Rajaji Nagar Industrial Estate at No. B113. It’s loud here because of all the machines running. We do CNC work, which means a lot of metal shavings and the smell of cutting oil everywhere. It’s not a clean office job. We wear earplugs most of the day. The industrial estate is a maze of similar looking units, so people sometimes get lost looking for B113. We have a few big machines that take up most of the floor space. There’s barely enough room for the small desk where we keep the blueprints. We’ve been operating out of this unit for a while. The floor is stained with oil and there’s always a hum in the air. We don't have a sales team. Usually, it’s just us working on the orders that come in from other factories. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch if the machine was acting up earlier. It’s hard work and the metal gets cold in the mornings. We don't bother with fancy signs or a reception area. If you come to the door, you’ll probably have to shout over the noise to get our attention. That’s just how it is in an industrial estate like Rajaji Nagar. We just keep our heads down and focus on the precision of the cuts. Lunch is usually eaten quick on a bench outside.
