Linen House

You can find us at number 36 in Chickpet, right next to the Jain Temple. If you’ve ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. Being next to the temple is actually quite nice because it’s a bit of a landmark for people trying to find us. We hear the bells and the sounds of the temple throughout the day. Our shop, Linen House, isn't very large. We have shelves lining the walls and a counter in the middle. It’s often a bit dusty because of the construction nearby in Mahadevapura, but we try to keep it tidy. We spend a lot of time unfolding and folding things. The light in here is a bit dim towards the back, but we have some lamps set up. It’s a family-run kind of feel here. We know the other shopkeepers on the lane and we often share a cup of tea in the afternoons. The street is so narrow that sometimes it’s hard for two people to walk side by side. We’ve had this spot for years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it works. We aren't here to be fancy. We just provide what we have to the people who come in looking for it. It’s a busy life in this part of town. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the trucks can't get through.
