Suryani Arts & Crafts Emporium

Our shop is tucked away in Anand Nagar 1. We have a lot of different things packed into the shelves here, from small wooden carvings to fabric items and handmade trinkets. It’s the kind of place where you have to be careful not to knock something over with your bag because the aisles are a little tight. We get these items from different makers, and we spend a lot of time unpacking crates and tagging everything with prices. It’s a bit messy in the back where we keep the extra stock and the packing tape. People usually come in when they need a gift for a wedding or a birthday and don't want to buy something from a big mall. We’ve got a lot of traditional stuff at Suryani Arts & Crafts Emporium that you don't see everywhere. The floor is a bit creaky in certain spots, but it adds to the feel of the place. We aren't really salespeople; we just tell people what things are made of if they ask. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s slow to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s a simple business, just keeping the shelves full and helping people find something they like. We’ve had some of these items for a while, and others go as soon as we put them out. It’s always interesting to see what people pick out from the variety we have on our shelves for them to look through.
