Down at No.3 on Rest House Road, things usually start getting busy as the sun goes down. We are right off Brigade Road, which everyone knows is one of the most crowded spots in Bangalore. LE Rock Pub has been sitting here for a bit, tucked away from the main noise of the big street but still close enough to feel the energy. The zip code is 560001, right in the heart of the city. We spend our afternoons dragging crates around and checking the taps. It is a lot of physical labor that people do not see. The interior has that dim lighting you expect in a pub. We do not have some big corporate manual on how to talk to people; we just say hello when they walk in. The street outside is narrow, so it gets pretty tight when cars try to pass each other. We see a mix of regular locals and people who are just visiting the Rest House Road area for the first time. It gets loud once the music starts, and the floor usually needs a good scrub by the time we close up. Working in Bangalore means dealing with a lot of different personalities, and we get them all here. It is just a straightforward place to hang out without any of that polished, high-end stuff you find in the malls and fancy hotels.
