Laxmikantha Kalyana Mantapa

We have been running Laxmikantha Kalyana Mantapa here in Padmanabhanagar for a long time now. The building at 42/49 has seen a lot of families come through for weddings and other functions. It is mostly a big open hall where people set up their decorations. We spend a lot of our mornings sweeping the floors and getting the chairs lined up just right. It gets really busy when there is a big event, and the whole street outside gets full of cars. Padmanabhanagar is usually a calm place but not when a wedding is happening. We handle the basic stuff like electricity and making sure the kitchen area is ready for the cooks. The back area is where they do all the heavy lifting with big pots of rice and sambar. Sometimes things get a bit messy with flower petals and paper scraps everywhere, but that is part of the job. We don’t have any fancy corporate setup, just a small corner where we keep the registers and talk to people who walk in. It is a practical space for local people who need a place to gather. We stay busy with maintenance mostly. One day we are fixing a light bulb and the next we are helping someone find the extra tables. It is just a regular life here at the mantapa. We have lived around this area so we know the neighbors well. People just call us or stop by when they need the hall.
