Lalith Handlooms

Lalith Handlooms is located over in Doddabommasandra, right on Krishna Temple Road. If you are looking for us, we’re at 159/B3, in the Chennakesavanilaya building. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but the locals know where it is. Being near the temple means it gets quite busy on certain days of the week. We have piles of handloom fabrics all over the place. Sometimes it’s hard to walk through the shop because there is so much stock on the floor. We don't really have a fancy layout or anything. It’s mostly just shelves filled with cloth and us trying to keep it all organized. My family has been around the Bangalore area for a long time. Vidyaranyapura is a nice part of the city, even if the roads are a bit bumpy lately. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who walk in looking for something specific. Most of our day is spent unfolding and folding things back up. It gets dusty, but that’s just how it is when you work with textiles. We don’t really do any big ads. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they were visiting the temple nearby. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us busy from morning till the evening when we finally pull the shutters down. There is usually a stray cat sleeping near the entrance, and we just let it be.
