Khatokar & Sons

Khatokar & Sons is over at 20/1 Tulsidham Cross Road in Kumara Park. We’ve been at this spot for a good while. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there is always someone around who knows the history of the place. The shop is tucked away a bit, but once you find Tulsidham Cross Road, it isn’t too hard to spot us. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing person. It is mostly just us handling the daily chores of the business. The shelves are packed with stuff and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what we are looking for. We spend our time checking orders and talking to the people who walk in. Kumara Park is a nice area, fairly quiet compared to the main roads, which we appreciate. The building is older, so it has its quirks like squeaky doors and spots where the paint is peeling a bit. We don't mind. It feels like home to us. Our customers are mostly regulars who have been coming to the Khatokar family for years. We handle things personally. If there is a problem, we just talk it out. It is a simple way of doing business, without any corporate layers. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s just how we do things every day.
