Bimba Textile Studio

You can find us at 10 T Dasarahalli, specifically over on 5th B Main in the 2nd Block. Bimba Textile Studio is a bit of a quiet place compared to the big garment factories you see elsewhere. We have shelves full of different fabrics and rolls of cloth leaning against the walls. It’s a lot of colors and textures all in one room. Most of the time, the sound of sewing machines is the only thing you hear. We started this because we liked working with our hands and seeing something get made from scratch. People come in from the neighborhood to look at what we have or to ask for something specific. The 5th Cross area is mostly residential, so it’s a nice change of pace. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who really know their way around a needle and thread. Sometimes the studio gets a bit messy with scraps of fabric on the floor and measuring tapes draped over chairs, but that’s just how we work. We spend our days cutting, pinning, and stitching. It’s not a fast process, but we aren't trying to be a giant factory. We like the pace we have here in Dasarahalli. It feels right to be part of the community and just do this one thing well without a lot of fuss or complicated business plans.
