Our shop is tucked away in Vijayanagar North, specifically on the 1st Cross of Magadi Chord Road. If you know the area, it’s a bit of a maze with all the small lanes and houses mixed in with workshops. We’ve been operating out of this spot at 37316 for a long time. It started small, and it’s still pretty much that way. There’s a lot of metal scraps and tools lying around on the benches most days. We do a bit of everything when it comes to components. Sometimes a guy comes in needing one specific part fixed, and other times it’s a bigger order. The morning usually starts with sweeping out the metal shavings from the day before. It’s noisy because of the traffic on the main road, but once you get inside and start the machines, you don't notice it much. We have a few cupboards filled with old blueprints and spare parts that haven't moved in years. The lighting isn't the best, so we use those big hanging bulbs over the lathes. It’s not a corporate place where everyone wears a tie. We’re usually in grease-stained clothes by noon. People stop by to chat or ask for advice on some mechanical problem they're having. We just try to get the jobs done on time so the pile on the floor doesn't get too high. It's a simple life.
