Kashmir Carpet Impex

Kashmir Carpet Impex is tucked away at B-11 in the Leela Galleria. Being part of The Leela Palace means the surroundings are very nice, but our shop feels much more practical and lived-in. Since we are on Airport Road, we hear the planes taking off every now and then, though it is mostly quiet inside the mall area. The shop is full of things we have collected over time, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The lighting in the Galleria is soft, which makes the colors of our carpets look a bit different depending on the time of day. We spend a lot of our time just rolling and unrolling things to check them over. It is a lot of heavy lifting, so we usually take a long break in the middle of the afternoon. Travelers staying at the hotel often wander in while they are waiting for a ride to the airport. We talk to them about where they are from, but we aren't the type to push anyone to buy things. It is more about having a conversation and showing what is on the racks. The space is clean but definitely looks like a place where real work happens. We have been in this spot for a while and know all the security guards by name.
