Karthik Kalyana Mantapa

We have been here at Gavipuram Extension for quite some time now. Our place, Karthik Kalyana Mantapa, is tucked away on Rudra Swamy Temple Street, right behind the Ramakrishna Ashram. If you know Basavanagudi, you know this part of town is pretty quiet but busy during wedding seasons. People usually find us when looking for a hall near the temple. It isn't a huge five-star hotel or anything like that. It is just a standard building where families get together for marriages and naming ceremonies. We have the main hall and some basic rooms for guests to stay in. The kitchen area is used by whichever caterers the families bring in. Being near Gavi Puram means we get a lot of locals coming through. The building is older, so it has that traditional feel you don't really see in the newer parts of Bangalore. We try to keep things tidy, though it gets chaotic when a big group arrives. Usually, the street gets a bit crowded with cars, but that is just how it is here. Most people choose us because the location is convenient for their relatives living around 560019. We don't do much fancy decorating ourselves, usually the families hire someone for that. It's just a space for people to do their functions without too much fuss. We've seen many generations get married here. It’s a plain, practical place for a community gathering or a wedding. We don't have any of those fancy glass elevators or modern carpets.
