Karnataka Time Center

Karnataka Time Center is located right on the first floor at 85 Vasanthapura Main Road. Being near Konanakunte Cross means there is always a lot of traffic noise. You can hear the buses and bikes going past all day long. We have to climb the stairs every morning to open up the shop. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us. It’s a simple setup we have here. We spend our time checking the inventory and keeping the glass cases clean. The dust from the main road is a bit of a problem, so we’re always wiping things down. Most of our day is spent waiting for the next person to walk in or answering the phone. It’s not a very big space, but we’ve made it work for a long time. The light in the afternoon hits the front window in a certain way that makes it hard to see outside for an hour or so. We usually take a break around four for some coffee from the place downstairs. It’s a quiet life inside the shop even though the road outside is so loud. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this neighborhood and the people who live around Konankunte. There’s no rush here, we just take things one step at a time and try not to get too stressed about the noise. Sometimes the rain makes the stairs slippery, so we have to be careful when we are leaving for the night.
