Karnataka Press Tools India is at No. 42/1 in Veeranahalli Village. We are part of the Virgo Nagar Industrial Area. It is quite a distance from the main city traffic. This is where the heavy work happens every day. You can hear the sound of metal and big machines from the moment you enter our lane. Our unit is just a big shed with a thick concrete floor. It is filled with various tools and metal parts. We have some heavy machinery that takes up most of the floor space. It is usually quite oily and noisy in here when everything is running. Veeranahalli Village is right on the edge of the industrial zone. We see a lot of workers commuting on bicycles or walking from the nearby houses in the morning. The Virgo Nagar area is always busy with large trucks carrying raw materials. We don't have a fancy office upstairs for meetings. We just have a small corner with a wooden table where we keep our logbooks and a telephone. The air often smells like iron and grease. It is hard work and we usually go home tired every day. We don't have air conditioning, just some large industrial fans that move the hot air around the room. People who work here have been with us for years. We know each other's families and stories.
