Karigars

Our place, Karigars, is located at 1299 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar Sahakarnagar. It is more of a workshop than anything else. You will see wood shavings on the floor and the smell of glue or polish is always in the air. We do not really have a fancy reception area. If someone stops by 1299 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar Sahakarnagar, they usually find us busy with some tools or moving materials around. We like working with our hands. It is more about the physical work than sitting behind a screen. Some days the machines are running so loud you cannot hear yourself think, but that is just how it goes when you are making things. Sahakarnagar is a nice area, though it is getting a bit crowded lately. We have been at this for a while, and our hands are usually stained with whatever we are working on that day. It isn't always pretty work. There are mistakes sometimes, and we have to sand things down and start over. That is just part of being a karigar, I guess. We take our time with the joints and the finishes. It is not about rushing things. We just want the piece to be solid. It is a simple way to make a living, but it keeps us busy enough throughout the year.
