Kalakruti Sarees

We’ve been here at Kalakruti Sarees for a while now, tucked away in Ganigara D Lane. It’s right near the Jumma Masjid, which most people know if they’re from around Siddanna Lane. The shop is on the ground floor, so it’s easy enough to find once you get into the cross. Honestly, the lane gets pretty crowded sometimes, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We spend most of our mornings folding things back up after customers have gone through the stacks. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized when you have so many different types of sarees coming in. We don't really do the big flashy signs or anything like that. Most folks who come in are just locals or people who heard about us from a neighbor. Sometimes the light in here isn't the best, but we try to keep things bright enough so you can see the thread work properly. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We like the neighborhood, even with all the noise from the street. It feels like home after all these years. If you’re walking past the masjid, you’ll probably see us there. We aren't doing anything fancy, just selling sarees and chatting with whoever stops by. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’re happy to be part of the Siddanna Lane community.
