About Kajari School Of Indian Classical Music – Education in Bengaluru
In Hedge Nagar, things can be quite loud during the day, but inside Kajari School Of Indian Classical Music, we try to keep things focused on the notes. It is a small space where we sit together and practice. Most of the students live nearby, so they just walk over after their school or work is done. We have been here for a while, and the neighborhood knows the sound of the instruments by now. It is not like those big fancy institutes you see in the city center. We have simple mats on the floor and our instruments are kept in the corners. Sometimes the rain makes a lot of noise on the roof, but we just play a bit louder to compensate. Teaching music is something that takes a lot of patience. We spend hours on just one raga sometimes. It is a slow process, and we don't rush the kids. Hedge Nagar has grown a lot since we started, but the music stays traditional. We don't have any big flashy signs, just a small one so people can find the door. People come here because they want to learn the old way. It is a quiet life for the most part, just sitting and singing or playing every day. We enjoy the routine and seeing the students get better over the months and years. It is enough for us.
