K. G. Engineering Works

K. G. Engineering Works sits at 70, 5th Cross on Vishweshwaraya Road in Bommanahalli. It’s tucked away in a spot that can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't looking for it. The shop has been a part of this neighborhood for a while now. We do mostly small-scale engineering tasks. The space isn't huge, so we have to be smart about where we put everything. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that stay busy most of the week. There is always a lot of clanging and the bright light from the welding torch going on. People from the nearby industries often drop by with specific parts they need fixed or made from scratch. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone walks in, one of us just wipes our hands and goes to see what they need. Bommanahalli has changed a lot over the years, getting way more crowded and loud. We just stay focused on the work inside the four walls. It’s steady work, nothing flashy. We spend our breaks having tea from the stall around the corner. The floor is concrete and usually has some grease stains, but that’s an engineering shop for you. We just try to get the jobs done on time so they don't pile up too much. It’s just a group of us working hard to keep things moving and making sure the parts are exactly how they should be.
