If you look for Janata Watch Works you will find us at 359 on the 50 Feet Road in Hanumanth Nagar. We are right near Khagis Bakery which is a good landmark because the smell of fresh bread is always around. We spend our days looking at tiny gears and small batteries. It’s quiet work that needs a lot of light. The shop is small and has glass counters filled with different parts. People bring in their old watches that stopped ticking years ago. Some just need a new strap or a quick clean. We’ve seen all kinds of clocks come through that door. Sometimes a person comes in with something their grandfather owned and they want it to work again. We do what we can with the tools we have. It’s a bit of a slow process because you can't force these things. The 50 Feet Road is usually quite busy with traffic and people walking by. We sit at the bench and watch the world go by through the front window. It’s been this way for a long time now. We aren't doing anything fancy here. Just fixing things that are broken. It’s satisfying when a watch starts ticking again after being silent. We just keep the shop open and see who comes in today. Sometimes we chat with the regular customers who pass by for their morning bread next door.
