Iskcon International Society For Krishna Conscious

Iskcon International Society For Krishna Conscious is located up on Harekrishna Hill in Rajajinagar. Most people know the spot because it is right opposite the Mysore Sandal Soap Factory on Chord Road. It is a big place with lots of stairs to climb if you want to get to the main part. We see a lot of people every day, especially on the weekends when families from all over Bangalore come to visit. There is always something going on, like people chanting or kids running around the courtyard. We have been here in the 1st R Block area for many years now. It takes a lot of work to keep a place this size running. You will see staff and volunteers cleaning the floors or helping out at the food stalls. The kitchen is almost always busy because we serve a lot of meals to visitors who come for the darshan. It is not exactly a quiet place, especially during festival times when the whole hill gets packed with people. You can hear the bells and the music from quite far away. Being near the factory means there is a lot of traffic on the main road, but once you get inside the gates, things feel a bit different. It is just a massive community spot where everyone is welcome to just sit and spend some time. You can see the city spread out from the edges of the hill if the weather is clear. We just try to keep everything organized for the people visiting us.
