Hoysala Dance Academy

We are up on the second floor over here in Malleshwaram. It’s on 14th Cross, 2nd Main. You have to walk up the stairs to find us. It’s not a huge studio with fancy mirrors everywhere, just a solid space where people come to learn and practice. We’ve been in this part of Bangalore for a while now. The wooden floors have some scratches from all the feet moving around, but we think it adds character. Sometimes the music gets a bit loud and the neighbors might notice, but mostly everyone is used to it. We don't do big advertisements. Most people just see the board outside or hear about the classes from friends in the area. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we open the windows to let the breeze in. It’s a very local atmosphere. We don’t have a receptionist sitting at a desk all day. Usually, one of us just comes over to talk when a new person walks in. We keep the schedules written on a board. It’s pretty simple. We focus on the teaching and the steps rather than having a polished look. 14th Cross is a nice area, quite peaceful compared to the main roads. If you’re around the 2nd Main, just look for the building with the number 8 on it. We're usually busy with students most evenings.
