Honal Arts Sign Board Painters & Wood Works

We are over at 283 Austin Town in Vadodara. The shop is called Honal Arts Sign Board Painters & Wood Works, which pretty much tells you what we spend our time doing. It is a mix of paint smells and sawdust around here. One side of the shop is for the painting, where we do hand-painted signs and boards. It takes a steady hand and a lot of patience, especially when the weather is humid and the paint takes forever to dry. The other side is where the wood work happens. We have saws and planers that make a lot of noise and leave piles of wood chips everywhere. It is a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing things, but we like working with our hands. Austin Town is a busy enough spot, so we get people walking in asking for small signs for their homes or shops. Sometimes we are working on a big wooden frame, and other days it is just small lettering on a metal sheet. We don't have a computer doing the designs; it is mostly just chalk and rulers. The walls are covered in old sketches and paint splashes from years of work. It is not a shiny showroom, just a real workshop where things actually get built. We have been in Vadodara for a good while, and the locals know us by the stacks of wood sitting out front.
