About Hitesh Watches & Key Makers – Gifts in Bengaluru
If you walk down 8th Cross in Malleshwaram, you’ll find us at 24-51. Hitesh Watches & Key Makers is a small shop, maybe a bit cramped if more than three people come in at once. I’ve spent years sitting at this little bench with a glass over one eye, looking at tiny gears that most people can't even see. It’s quiet work, except for when I’m grinding a new key. That machine makes a sharp, biting noise that probably annoys the neighbors, but they’re used to it. People lose their keys all the time, or they drop their watch and the hands stop moving. That’s when they bring them to me. I have stacks of old watch parts in little tins, and half the time I’m the only one who knows where anything is. Malleshwaram has changed a lot since we opened, but our corner stays pretty much the same. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing. Sometimes my back hurts from leaning over the table so much. I keep a radio playing in the corner just to have some background noise while I work. Customers usually wait right there while I finish a key, telling me about their day. It’s nice. We don't do anything fancy, just fixing things that are broken so people can get back into their houses or tell what time it is. That's enough for us. It keeps the lights on and the hands moving.
