High Land Nectar is right on Residency Road, specifically tucked into Subash Lane. It’s a bit of a funny spot because the main road is always jammed with cars and buses honking, but once you turn into the lane, things get a little quieter. We spend a lot of our day just getting things ready. The crates come in early, and we have to stack them in the corner because there isn't much storage room. The walls are a bit plain, maybe a bit yellowed from the years, but it works for us. We have a few regulars who come in at the same time every single day. They usually have their favorite spot to stand and talk. We don't really have a manager in a suit or anything like that. It’s just us in our regular clothes, making sure things are running okay. Sometimes the sink gets clogged or the fridge makes a weird rattling noise, and we have to fix it ourselves with a wrench. It’s not a fancy place with velvet chairs. We have plain counters and some old posters on the wall that have been there forever. The floor is concrete and easy to wash down at the end of the night. We just keep things moving and try to stay out of the heat. It is a simple life on Subash Lane, really. We've been at this address for long enough that the building feels like a second home.
