Harvest Medical Transcription Institute is right here at 49/2 BTM Layout 1st Cross. We have the space on the 2nd floor of the building. It’s a quiet place because transcription needs a lot of focus. We’ve been in the BTM Layout 1st Stage area for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent with students, showing them how to listen to medical recordings and type them out exactly. It’s not easy work, and it takes a lot of patience. We aren’t some massive educational corporation. We’re just a local training spot. The office is pretty basic with just computers and chairs. We don't have a big sign outside, just a simple one. The stairs can be a bit of a climb every day, but it's good exercise. People from all over the neighborhood come to learn here. We just try to teach them the skills they need for a job. It’s very practical. We talk about medical terms and how to spell them right. There’s no fancy fluff here. We just focus on the work. Sometimes we sit and have coffee while discussing some difficult audio clips. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We like being in BTM because it’s so central. If you’re looking for us, we’re just a short walk from the main road. It's a steady, calm environment for learning and we stay busy most days.
