Halli Tindi Caterers

Halli Tindi Caterers is based at No.3 in the Deepak Building, right on Bull Temple Road in Basavanagudi. Being so close to the Ganesha Temple means we are in one of the most traditional parts of the city. The name Halli Tindi basically means village food, and that’s the kind of vibe we try to keep in our cooking. We don't go for anything too modern or experimental. The Deepak Building isn't a new glass tower; it’s an older place that fits the neighborhood perfectly. Basavanagudi has a specific feel to it, and we like being part of that history. Every day, the bells from the temple and the sound of traffic on Bull Temple Road provide the background for our work. We spend our mornings cleaning vegetables and grinding our own powders for the recipes. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are always busy. We don’t use any corporate scripts when people call us. Usually, you’ll just talk to whoever isn't holding a ladle at that moment. We deal with a lot of traditional ceremonies where the food has to be just right according to long-standing customs. We just do our best to stick to those traditions and make sure everyone leaves the table feeling full. It’s a simple life, focused on the kitchen and the community around the temple.
