About Gyana Gangotri Nruthyalaya – Education in Bengaluru
Our dance space is tucked away in Banashankari 1st Stage, specifically on 4th Road. If you walk past Khar 194, you’ll probably hear the sound of the ghungroo bells or the rhythm of the wooden sticks. It’s a small, honest place where we spend our afternoons teaching steps to whoever walks through the door. The floors are worn down from years of dancing, and the walls are covered with a few old photos from past performances. We don't have those big mirrors or fancy lighting you see in modern studios. It’s just a room with enough space to move and a few fans to keep the heat away. Parents usually sit on the bench outside the door, chatting and waiting for their kids to finish. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite a long time, and everyone around here knows the sound of our music. Sometimes the traffic on 4th Road gets so loud we have to shout the counts, but we don't mind. We drink our coffee during the short breaks and talk about how the kids are progressing. It’s a bit cluttered in the corner with all the costumes and props, but it feels like home to us. We aren't trying to be a big academy; we just like to keep the tradition going in our own little corner of the city. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know best and we enjoy the daily routine.
