Gurumurthy Cooking Contractor has been operating out of Agrahara Dasarahalli for a long time. Our place is at 21/2, 3rd Stage, on 4th Main and 7th Cross. A lot of people know where we are because we’re right opposite Prasanna Talkies. It’s a landmark that everyone in the area uses for directions. Gurumurthy started this business with the idea of just being a reliable person people could call when they had a wedding or a housewarming. We call ourselves contractors because that’s how it works here—we take the contract, we bring the cooks, the big vessels, and the ingredients, and we get it done on-site or in our kitchen. The 3rd Stage area is pretty busy, especially with the cinema right there, so there’s always something happening outside our door. Inside, it’s a different story. It’s all about the prep. We have huge burners and stacks of stainless steel plates. It isn't a glamorous setup, but it’s efficient. We don't use fancy jargon or try to act like we’re some big international firm. We’re local people serving local families. Most of our staff have been with us for years and they know exactly how Gurumurthy likes things to be done. We just show up, do the cooking, and make sure there’s enough for everyone who comes to the feast. It's just honest, hard work done daily in Agrahara Dasarahalli.
