Gurukumara Sangeeta Shaale

At Banashankari 3rd Stage 679, you’ll find Gurukumara Sangeeta Shaale. It’s a music place, so as you can probably guess, there’s usually some kind of sound coming from inside. Whether it's a harmonium or someone practicing their scales, it’s rarely quiet here. We’ve been at 679 for a good while now. The building is a bit older, but it has a nice character to it. We don’t really go for the polished, modern look. It’s more about the instruments and the people who come to play them. The neighborhood in Banashankari 3rd Stage is pretty friendly, and our neighbors don’t seem to mind the noise too much, or at least they haven’t complained yet. Inside, we have a few rugs on the floor where people sit. It’s a bit dusty because of all the traffic nearby, but we try to sweep it out every day. Gurukumara Sangeeta Shaale is really just about the music. We don’t have any fancy mission statements. We just show up, tune the instruments, and start the day. Sometimes we stay late when a session is going well. It’s a simple way to spend the day, honestly. If you walk past 679 in the evening, you’ll likely hear us. We’re just a small group of people who enjoy what we do, nothing more than that. It’s been this way for years and we don’t plan on changing much.
