Guru Times

Guru Times is located at 1886 on the 1st Main Road in Vijaya Nagar. We are very close to the Maruthi Mandir, so if you hear the temple bells, you know you’re in the right place. It’s a lively part of the city. There’s always a flow of people going to the temple or visiting the local markets. The shop itself is small and packed with stuff. We’ve got clocks on the walls and watches in the display cases. Sometimes they all chime at different times and it makes a bit of a racket. I’ve been working with timepieces for a long time. It’s a quiet sort of job, focusing on small parts and tiny gears. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be, so I use a big magnifying glass on my desk. The 1st Main Road gets very busy in the evenings with shoppers. I usually sit near the front of the shop so I can catch the breeze and see who is passing by. The building is old and the wooden shelves have a bit of a creak to them whenever I move things. I have a small stool behind the counter where I spend most of my day. Regulars often stop by just to chat about the weather or the local news. I don't mind the company at all. It makes the long day go by faster. When it rains, the water splashes up from the road right onto the doorstep. I have to keep a mop handy just in case.
