Gokul Das Images is out in Yelahanka, which is a bit of a drive from the main city center of Bangalore. We are based near the Ananthapur Post. It’s a lot more relaxed out here compared to the crowded parts of the city. We’ve been in this location for a good number of years now. Our focus is mainly on the garment industry, so our space is usually filled with rolls of cloth and different patterns we are working on. It’s more of a workshop feel than a corporate office. We have people working on machines and others checking the quality of what we make. It’s a hands-on kind of environment. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or modern art on the walls. It’s just a place where we put in the hours to get the clothes made right. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so it feels a bit like a small community. The building is simple, and we like it that way because it lets us focus on the actual work. During the monsoon, the rain on the roof can be pretty loud, but we just keep going. We don't do much in the way of big meetings; we mostly just talk over the tables while we work. It’s a straightforward way to run a business, and it seems to work for us. We just make sure the orders are packed and ready for the trucks when they arrive each week.
