Global Music Academy

The sound at Global Music Academy usually carries out onto the 5th Cross of Oil Mill Road in Arvind Nagar. We are located in St Thomas Town 12, and it’s a fairly quiet residential pocket of Bangalore most of the time. Our building is nothing special to look at from the outside, but inside there’s always something going on. You might hear someone struggling with a guitar scale or the steady beat of a drum kit coming from one of the back rooms. We have instruments leaning against the walls and stacks of sheet music that never seem to stay organized. It gets a bit cramped when we have several people here at once, but we make it work. The neighborhood kids often drop by after school, and we also have adults who come in late after they finish their shifts. We don't have expensive soundproofing, so you can definitely hear the street dogs or the vegetable seller while you’re practicing a piano piece. It’s a very local vibe here. We spend a lot of time tuning instruments and just talking about songs we like. Nobody is trying to be a superstar; we’re just here because we like making noise and helping others figure out how to do the same. It’s a messy, loud, and happy way to spend the day in Arvind Nagar.
