Glaxosmithline Pharmaceuticals is over at TM Tech Park, which is situated at the 12th km mark on Mysore Road. It is a bit of a different setting compared to a standalone shop since we are inside a tech park environment. There is a lot of security at the main gate, and you have to go through the whole routine just to get inside the building. Once you are in, it’s mostly offices and labs where we work on various pharmaceutical projects. The 12th km on Mysore Road is a busy stretch, and the commute can be pretty long depending on where you are coming from. Inside the park, everything is a bit more structured and quiet than the noisy streets outside. We spend our days mostly at our desks or moving between different departments. There are a lot of people working here from all over the city. The building has those big glass windows that look out over the road, so we can see the traffic crawling by all day. We don't really do much in the way of selling things directly to people on the street; it’s more of a corporate pharmaceutical hub. We just follow the daily schedule and get our tasks finished before heading back out into the Mysore Road traffic. It’s a professional place but it still has its share of daily quirks, like the elevator being slow or the canteen running out of tea. It’s just where we work.
