Our office is tucked away in the 560032 area of Bangalore, and we focus mainly on civil engineering. It’s a busy part of Karnataka, and there is always some kind of construction noise in the background. We have been working in this field for many years, and our office reflects that—it is full of old project files, yellowing maps, and a lot of technical books. The staff here are mostly civil engineers who would rather be on a site than sitting behind a computer screen. We spend a lot of our time checking on foundations and making sure the structural bits are all in order. It is a lot of responsibility, but we take it one day at a time. The office doesn't have a sign that glows at night or anything like that; it’s just a plain door where we do our work. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused, especially when we have to finish a report by the end of the day. The traffic in this part of Bangalore can be quite something, so we try to plan our site visits early in the morning to avoid the worst of it. We are just regular people who happen to know a lot about how buildings are put together. We don't try to impress anyone with big words; we just show them the plans and get to work. It's a bit dusty and messy sometimes, but that's just the reality of civil engineering.
