Our place is at No.10 on Patalamma Street. We are right across from the Canara Bank in Jayanagar 4th Block. It’s a very busy part of town. If you come by in the morning, you’ll see big sacks of rice and crates of vegetables being hauled inside. We spend a lot of our time over giant gas burners. The heat in the kitchen gets pretty intense, especially during the summer months. We handle food for all sorts of things like small house parties or bigger gatherings. We don't have a glossy menu. We just talk to people and figure out what they need for their event. Most of us have been cooking since we were kids. There are always huge stainless steel pots soaking in the back sink. Cleaning them is the hardest part of the job. Jayanagar is a nice area but parking on Patalamma Street is a total nightmare. We usually tell people to walk if they can. Our staff is mostly made up of family and a few neighbors who have been with us for years. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just heavy spoons and our own hands. Sometimes the spice mix is a little stronger one day than the next because we do it all by feel. That is just how home cooking works on a bigger scale. We keep the floors scrubbed and the knives sharp. That’s about all there is to it. We just make food for people.
