Ganga School Bag

Our workshop is located at No 582/2 and 583/2 on Kalkere Main Road. It’s a bit of a dusty area with all the traffic coming through Horamavu, but we like it here. We have been making bags for the local kids in K R Pura Hobli for quite a while. The space is filled with rolls of nylon and canvas. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit because there are so many finished bags waiting to be picked up. We don't use any fancy machinery, just the old reliable ones that have been with us for years. Bangalore can be quite loud, and our shop adds to that noise with the constant thumping of the needles. It’s a practical business. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertisements. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking past our door on the main road. The 560043 area is home to many families, so we stay busy. We focus on getting the stitching right so the bags don't fall apart after a month. It’s honest work. My brother and I handle most of it, along with a couple of helpers from the neighborhood. We keep the doors open to let the breeze in, though it usually just brings in more dust. It's just a regular day-to-day operation here at Ganga School Bag, nothing more. We just keep our heads down and keep sewing until the day is done and it's time to head home.
