G M Stores

We've been at Shivananda Circle for a long time now. Most people around here know us because we've been on this corner for years. It's a busy spot and the traffic never really stops, but we like the energy of it. G M Stores isn't a big supermarket or anything like that. We are just a local shop where you can find the basic things you need for your house. I usually get here early in the morning to open the shutters and sweep the front. The dust from the road is a bit of a problem, so I'm always cleaning. We have shelves that are a bit old and the paint is peeling in some spots, but they hold everything just fine. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions or to get away from the rain for a minute. We don't mind at all. Most of our customers are the same people we see every single day. We know who likes which brand of tea and who is always looking for a specific type of soap. It's nice having that connection with the neighborhood. We don't have a computer to track things; we just use a big book and a pen. It works for us and we've never had a reason to change it. Running a store like this at Shivananda Circle keeps us busy from dawn till dusk, but it's a good life. We just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the next person to walk through the door.
