F. M. Engineering

Down on Medleri Road, right across from the Anjuman Complex, you will find our workshop. F. M. Engineering has been sitting here in this part of Karnataka for quite some time now. It’s a noisy place, honestly. There is always someone grinding metal or the sound of a drill going off in the back room. We have bits of iron and steel scattered around the floor, and the smell of machine oil is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. We don't have a front office with a fancy desk or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to walk past the machines and find someone who isn't wearing a welding mask. It’s practical work. We take on whatever engineering jobs come through the door, whether it’s a small part for a neighbor or something bigger for a local contractor. The sun hits the metal roof in the middle of the day, so it gets pretty hot, but we just keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the district. We just want to get the measurements right and make sure the welds hold up. The guys here have dirty hands most of the day, but that’s just how the job is. It’s simple, honest labor. We show up early, turn on the power, and get to work until it’s time to go home for the night.
