Embassy Riding

Our place is located way out in Tarahunise Village, north of Bangalore. It’s a long way from the city center, but that’s where you need to be if you want space for horses. We’ve got 149/2 and 223 as our plot numbers, and it’s basically just fields and stables. The smell of hay and horses is everywhere, which you get used to after about five minutes. It’s dusty in the dry season and a bit muddy when the monsoon hits. We spend most of our mornings cleaning out stalls and making sure the animals are fed. It’s hard work, and your boots are never clean. The staff here mostly wears jeans and old t-shirts because there’s no point in dressing up. We have riders coming in at all hours, some who know what they’re doing and others who are just starting out. There isn't a lot of "corporate" vibe here; it's more about the animals and the dirt. We have a small area where people can sit and watch, but it’s nothing fancy. Just some benches and maybe a bit of shade. Life moves slower out here in the village. We deal with the horses, the weather, and the occasional broken fence. It’s a practical life, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. You might see a tractor passing by or hear the peacocks in the morning. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s real.
