Living and working around B.T.M Layout 2nd Stage means you’re always dealing with the traffic on the 37th Main. Our shop at No. 6 is tucked into a spot that stays pretty busy from morning until late at night. Ecocut Machining Solutions isn't a very large operation, but we stay occupied. You can usually find us surrounded by metal shavings and the smell of oil. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby; you just walk in and someone will be there at a machine. The 37th Main has changed a lot over the years with new shops opening up, but we’ve stayed in this same spot. It’s a mix of residential houses and little workshops like ours. On some days, the heat from the machines makes the whole place feel heavy, so we take breaks on the steps outside. We get a lot of people just walking in to ask questions or see if we can help with a small job. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless it’s to check a drawing or handle an invoice. Most of the time is spent standing on our feet, making sure the cuts are right and the parts are solid. It’s repetitive work, but there’s a rhythm to it that feels right. When the weekend comes, we spend an hour just cleaning the floors and oiling the equipment so everything stays in decent shape for the next week.
