Draggon Boy Dance School

If you walk around Vimanapura B R S Nagar, you might hear music coming from No. 171/8. That’s our dance school. I’m the one who started Draggon Boy Dance School because I just really liked dancing and wanted a place to teach others. It’s not a huge studio with mirrors on every single wall, but we have enough space to move around. The floor gets a lot of wear and tear from all the kids jumping and practicing their moves. We have classes in the afternoons and evenings mostly. It gets pretty loud and sweaty, especially when the older groups are here practicing for a local show. I handle the music and show the steps. Sometimes I have to tell the students to quiet down so they can hear the beat. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but that’s just how a dance school is. We aren't trying to be a world-famous academy; we just want people in the neighborhood to have a spot to learn some steps. I do the scheduling myself on a big chalkboard. Sometimes the parents hang around outside and chat while they wait. It’s a very local vibe. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything. Just come in your comfortable clothes and get ready to move. It’s been a fun journey so far. We keep it simple and just enjoy the music every day.
