Dps Bangalore South School is situated way down at the 11th Km on Kanakapura Road. Specifically, we are on Bikaspura Main Road in Konanakunte. It’s quite a way out if you’re coming from the city center, but it’s a growing area. The road gets very busy with all the new apartments being built. We have a fairly large site here. There’s enough room for the buildings and some open space for the students to spend time outside. The traffic on Kanakapura Road is something we all deal with every day. It’s just part of the routine. Inside the school, it’s mostly what you would expect. We have rows of classrooms and plenty of stairs. We try to keep everything clean, though the dust from the construction nearby is a never-ending battle. The staff here is a mix of people from all over the south of the city. We don't really have a fancy philosophy to tell you about. We just show up, open the gates, and get through the day's lessons. By the time the afternoon sun hits the front of the building, everyone is ready to head home. It’s a busy place with a lot of moving parts. We just take it one day at a time. Sometimes the fans are a bit squeaky and the chalkboard needs a good scrubbing. That’s just how it goes in a real school like ours. We have a small staff room where the kettle is always on.
