Divinity Music School

Divinity Music School is located in J C Nagar. It’s just a regular house that we converted into a space for music. We have a few rooms with soundproofing foam on the walls, though you can still hear the drums from the street sometimes. It’s not a grand conservatory with marble floors. We have old carpets and some mismatched chairs. There are guitars leaning against the walls and a keyboard that’s missing one of the plastic knobs. We teach local kids and even some adults who always wanted to learn. Usually, it's just me and a couple of friends who give the lessons. We don't have a big office or a secretary. If we're in the middle of a lesson, we might not hear the door, so people just walk in and wait on the sofa. The sofa is a bit lumpy but comfortable enough. J C Nagar is a nice area, and we’ve been here for a long time. We have a small garden out front that needs weeding. Sometimes we hold small recitals in the living room for the parents. It gets crowded and hot, but everyone has a good time. We’re not looking to be famous; we just like playing and showing others how to do it. It’s a noisy house, but it’s a happy one. We just keep the instruments tuned and the doors open for anyone who wants to play a song.
