About Dani Sangeetha Samsthe – Education in Bengaluru
Down in Guttahalli Poisar 62, there is always some kind of sound coming from our rooms. We started Dani Sangeetha Samsthe because music is just something that was always around our houses. It’s not a big fancy academy with soundproof walls or anything like that. You can usually hear the notes drifting out into the street. We teach various instruments and singing to kids from the neighborhood and some older folks too who finally found time to learn. The space is a bit cramped when everyone shows up at once, but we make it work. We have some old chairs and music stands that have been used for years. Most people around here know where we are because they see the students walking in with their instrument cases. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most of the time, someone just tells their neighbor about us. It’s a very local thing. We spend our afternoons going over scales and trying to get the rhythm right. Sometimes it’s a bit noisy, and maybe the neighbors wonder when we will stop, but it’s all part of the learning. Teaching music isn't about being perfect right away, it’s about the practice every day. We just enjoy seeing people get better at it over time without any pressure or complicated rules. It is a quiet life here in Guttahalli focused on the sounds we make and the songs we learn together.
